Irony: the opposite of wrinkly
29 May 2009 @ 12:23 pm
Title: A Modest Proposition
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Swearing, violence against tables, past violence against people, rage, some blood.
Characters/pairings: Jon/liberal!"Stephen"

Summary: I know, I know, I planned this to be a happy month. But sometimes you can't help being upset.

Trouble is, the alternate-universe liberal version of "Stephen" doesn't think he's allowed to be. No matter what happens with Proposition 8.

(Please be warned that this is all kinds of angry.)

( 'Sure, America came pretty close to turning into a fascist dictatorship under the Bush regime, but at least being gay has stayed legal!' )

Title: I'll Be That Girl
Rating: R
Warnings: Trans angst, voyeurism, self-harm, disturbing imagery, steamy scenes
Characters/pairings: MtF!Stephen(/OC), Jon, Charlene, Sweetness

Summary: Another orphaned prompt from [info]lgbtfest: 1082. Punditslash, Character!Stephen Colbert, Stephen's been obsessed with wooing his cousin Charlene for years. What no one knew was that he's more interested in becoming her than he is in dating her.

Title is from the BNL song. Also, this one was supposed to be depressing (the statistics for trans kids are horrific), but it sprang a happy ending on me.

(As a footnote, two old friends of mine have come out as trans in the past couple of weeks. Is there something in the water?)

This 'verse is open for exploration, and has been played in here.

( Womanhood is supposed to be a mystical quality reserved for teachers and mothers and the Virgin Mary, and now all of a sudden Charlene — the bossy cousin who always loses to Stephen at checkers, for crying out loud! — is walking into class with curved red lips and a sashay in her step! )

Title: In Time
Series: Fake news (the real people)
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Drug references; loads of character death (same character, different deaths)
Disclaimer )

Summary: In an effort to save his life, Jon keeps pulling a Run Lola Run on r!Stephen's personal history.

(Thought this was going to be long, so I decided to just write a summary and throw it in with the Five Fake News Stories Never Written. And then the synopsis turned out to be the story.)

( Jon drifts through the fog of funeral arrangements and hastily cut-together tribute specials, until it gets to be too much. )

Title: The Mission
Fandom: Where's Waldo?/Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?
Pairing: Carmen/Waldo
Theme set: Delta
Rating: PG

For a Carmen/Waldo claim over at [info]1sentence. In which master hider Waldo is the newest recruit at ACME, where he's assigned to track down the notoriously slippery Carmen Sandiego. Sparks fly.

(You may want to scan the summary of the Waldo TV series and watch a bit of the old Carmen cartoon before reading.)

( 'This is my first time,' he admits; she lifts an eyebrow, which is all it takes to have him blushing and stammering: 'I meant going on an ACME mission!' )

Comes with matching artwork.

( She doesn't have to ask this time; she knows who he is by the way his scarf is bending the space-time continuum. )

Title: See The Little Unicorn There
Series: TDS/TCR
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Fatal diseases, angsty!"Stephen", some ambiguity.
Two disclaimers, with love )

Summary: In an interview, Ed Helms once sang a song about a unicorn. On his show, Stephen has referred to a unicorn of his own. In 2005, while both were correspondents on The Daily Show, New York City clinics introduced on-site, rapid HIV testing using an oral fluid test.

Aaaaaand scene!

( 'I didn't get that close, being as how they only come near virgins and I am so not a virgin, but I could definitely see the horn.' )

Title: This Is How A Heart Breaks
Fandom: The Colbert Report
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Gunplay, trauma, serious pain
Two disclaimers, with love )

Summary: This is the story in mental images that I get when listening to "This Is How A Heart Breaks" by Rob Thomas. Sung by character!Stephen, on the day he snaps and brings a gun to the Daily Show studio.

( And I'm steady but I'm starting to shake, and I don't know how much more I can take )

Title: Three Valentines
Fandom: Hellsing
Genre: Backstory, general, minor fluff
Words: ~1000
Rating: PG for violence, vampirism
Warnings: The neon "LIVE NUDES" sign is not actually important to the story. Don't get your hopes up.
Disclaimer: Hellsing is the creation of Kōta Hirano. Characters used without permission - but with love (and, more importantly from a legal standpoint, without profit).

Notes: For my DandyxHuntress claim at [info]hellsing_drops. Theme #29: Valentine. (Posted February 13.)

( Rip and Alhambra spend Valentine's Day on the job in rainy England. It's a good thing they don't run into any enemies, because their allies are trouble enough. )
